Help
Quick answers about using Torque Teardown. Can't find what you need? Ask in the Forum or contact us at TorqueTeardown@gmail.com.
Finding your car
By number plate: type your UK plate on the home page and tap Find. We look it up with the DVSA MOT records and open your car if it's in our catalogue.
From the list: open Explore and use the Car menu at the top.
Not listed? Use the request button after a plate search. We use requests to choose which cars to add next.
Exploring a car
- Drag to turn the car and pinch to zoom. On a computer you can also scroll, or use the arrow keys.
- Pick a section (engine, brakes, suspension and so on) to explode it, then tap a part to see what it does, common faults and part numbers.
- All parts lists every catalogued part. Search it by name or part number.
- The 3D model is simplified. Shapes and positions are a guide, not a factory drawing.
Part numbers
We show part numbers from named sources. Some are maker (OE) numbers and some are aftermarket references, and we say which. Always check a number against your car's VIN with the seller before you order.
Mods and remaps
- Power figures for remaps are the tuners' own claims, shown as estimates. They are not independent dyno results.
- Anything marked off-road / track only is not road legal in the UK, for example removing a catalytic converter or particulate filter.
- Tell your insurer about any remap or modification. Not declaring it can void your cover.
- Your car must still pass its MOT, including emissions and noise.
Free and Pro
Free: Explore every car in 3D, browse parts and part numbers, find your car by plate, and read the Forum.
Pro: Mods & Tune (plan a build, see gains and which parts are put under strain), fault codes, and My Garage, where you save your own cars, prices, part numbers and MOT history.
Price: £6.49 a month. You can cancel at any time to stop future payments (no refunds for payments already made); see the terms.
